A spectacular show of speed, skill and teamwork of 180 athletes representing 12 teams from across India<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Surat (Gujarat) [India], September 1: <\/strong>The Odisha AM\/NS India Junior Kho Kho Championship 2026<\/strong>, organised by the Odisha AM\/NS India Kho Kho High Performance Centre in collaboration with the Department of Sports & Youth Services, Government of Odisha (DSYS), the Kho Kho Federation of India (KKFI), and the Odisha Kho Kho Association (OKKA)<\/strong>, concluded on August 31, 2026<\/strong> after three days of exhilarating competition. Featuring 12 teams across Junior Boys and Junior Girls categories<\/strong>, the championship brought together 180 rising stars<\/strong>, showcasing speed, skill, discipline, and teamwork.<\/p>\n

The inauguration ceremony on August 29, 2026<\/strong>, coinciding with the celebration of National Sports Day<\/strong> and adding to the spirit of the event, was graced by Shri Sudhanshu Mittal, President, KKFI<\/strong>, as the Chief Guest. The Guests of Honour included Shri Pradyumna Mishra, Vice President, KKFI & Secretary, OKKA, Shri M.V.S.S. Prasad, President, Andhra Pradesh Kho Kho Association and Dr. Vikas Yadvendu, Head \u2013 CSR, AM\/NS India<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In the Junior Girls category<\/strong>, the championship was won by Maharashtra<\/strong>, who overcame Odisha in an exciting final by 4 points (Maharashtra 24 \u2013 20 Odisha)<\/strong>. The bronze medal match saw Punjab edge past Tamil Nadu to claim third place. Tulsi Naik (Odisha)<\/strong> was awarded the Best Attacker of the tournament<\/strong>, while Maithili Pawar (Maharashtra)<\/strong> earned the Best Defender of the tournament<\/strong>. The Player of the Tournament<\/strong> was awarded to Sneha Lamkane (Maharashtra)<\/strong> for her excellent performance throughout the tournament.<\/p>\n

In the Junior Boys category<\/strong>, Karnataka<\/strong> won the championship by defeating Maharashtra in a thrilling final by just 2 points (Maharashtra 34 \u2013 36 Karnataka)<\/strong>, keeping spectators on the edge of their seats. The bronze medal match saw Odisha overcome Kolhapur to secure third place. Ibrahim (Karnataka)<\/strong> was adjudged the Best Attacker of the tournament<\/strong>, while Parth Devkate (Maharashtra)<\/strong> earned the Best Defender of the tournament<\/strong>. For his exceptional skill across matches, Aniket (Karnataka)<\/strong> received the Player of the Tournament award<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The closing ceremony on August 31, 2026<\/strong>, was graced by Prof. Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra, Vice Chancellor, Shree Jagannath Sanskrit University, Puri<\/strong>, as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was also graced by Shri K. Ravi Kumar, Olympian and Arjuna Awardee, Ms. Suchitra Parida, Biju Patnaik Sports Awardee and Para Athlete, Shri Pradyumna Mishra, Vice-President, KKFI and Secretary, OKKA, Shri Vikas Yadvendu, Head \u2013 CSR, AM\/NS India, Shri Chandan Kumar Sahoo, District Sports Officer (DSO), Puri, and Shri Santosh Kumar Sethi, District Public Relations Officer (DPRO), Puri<\/strong>, along with coaches, officials, and athletes.<\/p>\n
